The single habit that makes every manicure last longer — and why less cutting is always more.
If we could give every guest one piece of advice, it would be this: oil your cuticles every night. Not occasionally. Every night. It takes two minutes and it changes everything.
Why it matters
Healthy cuticles form a seal that protects the nail matrix. Dry, cracked cuticles lift, snag and invite you to pick at them — which is where most damage begins.
The ritual
- One drop of oil at the base of each nail.
- Massage in small circles for ten seconds per finger.
- Gently push back softened skin with a towel — never cut at home.
- Finish with hand cream, working it into the knuckles.
Cutting live tissue makes cuticles grow back thicker. Oil and patience make them disappear.
Every treatment at Maison Élise ends with a travel-size bottle of our cold-pressed jojoba oil. Keep it by your bed.
