Cookie Policy

Demonstration website. Maison Élise is a fictional nail atelier created to present the Elite Nail Studio WordPress theme. This policy describes what the website itself stores and loads; details in square brackets are placeholders for the business that uses it. Remove this paragraph once the policy describes a real business.

Cookies and browser storage

Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to keep. Browsers also offer local storage and session storage, which work in a similar way but are not sent to the website with each request. This policy covers all three. This website does not use analytics, advertising or social-media tracking.

Necessary

These items keep the website working or remember a choice you made. They are always active and contain nothing that identifies you.

eds-consent:elite-nail-studio (local storage, this website): remembers your privacy choice. Created when you choose; you are asked again after 180 days or when this policy changes in a way that needs a new choice.
wpEmojiSettingsSupports (session storage, WordPress): records whether your browser can display emoji. Removed when you close the tab.
eds-dps:elite-nail-studio (local storage, demonstration sites only): remembers the colour palette you previewed with the “Try Colors” tool. It contains only the palette’s name, never leaves your browser, and is removed when you choose “Reset to Default”.
wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_*, wordpress_test_cookie (cookies, WordPress): set only for staff who log in to manage the website, for the length of their session.

Preferences: translation

This category is off until you switch it on. It covers the language selector in the footer, provided by GTranslate (GTranslate Inc.) using Google’s translation service. With your permission, a script loads from cdn.gtranslate.net and the text of the page is sent to Google (translate-pa.googleapis.com) to be translated: into the language you choose, or automatically into your browser’s language when it is one of the languages offered. Both services receive your IP address and browser details and may process them outside your country; see the GTranslate privacy policy and the Google privacy policy.

__GT_TRANSLATE_LANGS (local storage, GTranslate): stores the original and the chosen language, so that the pages you open next are translated too. Created only after you allow translation, when a page is translated.
gt_autoswitch (local storage, GTranslate): records that your browser’s language has been checked, so the automatic switch happens only once. Created only after you allow translation.

Without your permission, no GTranslate script is loaded and nothing is sent to Google.

Your choices

On your first visit you can accept or reject optional services, or choose them one by one. You can change your mind at any time with Cookie preferences, also in the footer of every page. When you withdraw your permission, the translation storage is deleted and the page reloads in its original language. You can also clear all of these items in your browser settings.

Other services
