Privacy Notice
Demonstration website. Maison Élise is a fictional nail atelier created by Elite Digital Solutions to present the Elite Nail Studio WordPress theme. Please do not use its forms to arrange real appointments or send real personal information: in this public demonstration, form entries are checked only to show how the forms work and are not emailed to a salon or anyone else. A real salon website would connect the forms to its own email or form provider, as described below. This notice describes how the website itself works; details in square brackets are placeholders for the business that uses it. Remove this paragraph once the notice describes a real business.
Who is responsible
[Registered legal name] is responsible for the personal data handled through this website. You can reach us at hello@maisonelise.example or +1 (555) 014-2290. Our full business details are in the Legal Notice.
[Data protection contact, if one has been appointed]
What we collect and why
We only receive the information you choose to send through our forms:
- Appointment requests (booking form and quick booking card): your name, telephone number, email address, the treatment, preferred artist, date and time, and any message. We use them to arrange and confirm your appointment.
- Contact form: your name, email address, telephone number if given, subject and message. We use them to answer your question.
- Newsletter: your email address. We use it to send the letters you asked for.
Each form is passed to our form and email providers and delivered to us by email. Neither the website nor its form service keeps a copy of your submission; the email provider’s own retention applies. No CAPTCHA service is used: automated spam is filtered with a hidden field and a check on how quickly the form was completed.
Legal basis
[The legal basis for each purpose, to be confirmed for the business. For example: taking steps at your request before an appointment, our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, and your consent for the newsletter.]
Who receives your data
Your messages reach us through our hosting, form and email providers, which process them on our behalf: [names of the hosting, form-processing and email providers, for example Cloudflare and the email delivery service]. We do not sell your personal data or share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
[How long appointment requests, enquiries and newsletter subscriptions are kept, or the criteria used to decide.]
Translation
The language selector in the footer is optional and stays switched off until you allow translation under “Cookie preferences”. Nothing is loaded from outside this website before that. Once allowed, your browser loads a script from GTranslate (cdn.gtranslate.net) and the text of the page is sent to Google’s translation service to be translated: into the language you choose, or automatically into your browser’s language when it is one of those offered. These services receive your IP address and browser details and may process them outside your country; their own privacy policies apply. Your choice is remembered in your browser (see below), so the pages you open next are translated, and their text sent to Google, in the same way.
Cookies and browser storage
This website does not set cookies for visitors. It stores a few small items in your browser, none of which identify you:
- eds-consent:elite-nail-studio (local storage, this website): remembers your privacy choice.
- wpEmojiSettingsSupports (session storage, WordPress): records whether your browser can display emoji. It is removed when you close the tab.
- __GT_TRANSLATE_LANGS (local storage, GTranslate): created only after you allow translation, when a page is translated. It stores the original and the chosen language, so that the next pages are translated too.
- gt_autoswitch (local storage, GTranslate): records that your browser’s language has been checked, so the automatic switch happens only once.
- eds-dps:elite-nail-studio (local storage, demonstration sites only): remembers the colour palette you previewed with the “Try Colors” tool. It contains only the palette’s name, never leaves your browser, and is removed when you choose “Reset to Default”.
You can delete these items at any time in your browser settings. Staff who log in to manage the website also receive WordPress login cookies. The Cookie Policy describes each item and how to change your choices.
Links to other websites
Links to other websites, such as Instagram, open those services directly. Their own privacy policies apply once you follow the link.
Security
Form submissions are checked for tampering and automated spam before they are sent. [Describe the security of the hosting and email services, for example encrypted HTTPS connections.]
Your rights
You may ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to its use, or to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, such as for the newsletter, you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise these rights, email hello@maisonelise.example.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to [the data protection authority responsible for the business].
Changes to this notice
We update this notice when the website or the way we handle personal data changes. The date below shows the current version.
